1.1- A New Game

Adam: Welcome to Shuffled Island; a little island just off the coast of Hawaii.  This will be the home of 16 castaways for the next 39 days.  They will compete in challenges, and form friendships as one by one they are voted off the island and out of the game until only one remains.  They have come from all across the globe to test themselves in the adventure of a lifetime.  Shuffled is unlike any other previous Survivor game, so if they want to survive here, they will have to quickly adapt to every turn the game structure takes.  39 days, 16 people, 2 tribes, 1 survivor.

Opening credits.

The 16 castaways made their way off of the boats that brought them onto the shore.  They quickly noticed 4 tables on the beach, each of which had a deck of cards placed in the middle.

Adam: Welcome to the first challenge of Survivor Shuffled.

Some of the castaways looked stunned. 

Adam: If you thought that you would be interacting with your tribe for this challenge, you were wrong.  You will have no way to know how your other tribe mates are doing.  This challenge will test your strategic and mental abilities.  In the spirit of the card theme that Shuffled has taken, the first challenge will be a game of hearts.  4 tables are set up, pick a spot and play.  The winner will receive further instructions.

The castaways slowly started to shuffle to tables. Steph, Tom, Daniel, and Amanda sat at table 1.  Table 2 was occupied by Skyler, Vanessa, Jay and Kevin.  At table 3, the castaways were Simone, Jawa, Chris and Emily.  The last table consisted of Cindi, Paul, Nick and Mike.

After one game of hearts, the winners from each table were Steph, Kevin, Emily, and Cindi.

Adam: Now for the final round.  The 4 of you will play one last game of hearts.  The winner will make some important decisions that will affect the rest of the game.

Kevin--When the host said that the winner would have to make really important decisions, I knew right then that I wasnt going to try to win.  I really dont like surprises, and Id rather play it cool for now.

The game was close, but in the end Steph emerged victorious, barely edging out Emily by 2 points. 

Adam: Congratulations Steph

Steph: Oh my gosh!!!  I cant believe I won!!  What did I win?

Adam: I need everyone to follow me please.

The castaways looked to each other in confusion and slowly got up.  Adam led them to an opening on the beach.  They gathered in a semi circle around 2 large wooden crates, one black and one white.

Adam: Steph, come forward please and stand to my left.

Steph did as she was asked.

Adam: What if I told you that you are now the chief of your tribe, and that you will single handedly pick your tribe name.and your tribe?

Steph--Oh man!!!  When Adam said that I was like AHHH!!! WHAT DID I GET MYSELF INTO?!?!?  But at the same time, its pretty cool.

Steph: Id say WEEEE!!!

Adam walked to the white crate.  This tribe will be known as Morongo. He turned and pointed to the black one.  That is Coachella.  Steph, pick the name of your tribe.

Steph:  It makes no difference to me!!! SoMorongo!!!

Adam opened up the white crate and took out 8 white buffs, and a headdress.  He handed them to Steph.

Adam: Pick your tribeany girl to guy ratio.

Steph: Are you serious?

Adam: Pick away.

Steph looked over everyone and selected Amanda to her tribe.

Steph--I picked Amanda first cause she was at my table during the challenge.  She just gave off a really happy vibe and I really wanted to get to know her more.  I thought maybe Id just select the people at my table since we had already gotten to know each other somewhat.

They hugged.

Adam: Alright, Emily, please come join us up here and stand to my right.

Emily was taken aback but stood and joined the others.

Adam: Emily you were the runner up in the challenge.  You are now the chief of Coachella.  He opened the black crate, and handed Emily 8 black buffs. Select your first tribe member.

Emily: Oh wow.

Emily--I was not expecting that at all!  I really didnt take very long before I made my first choice.  I chose Daniel for two reasons.  First because he was just standing there with a big smile on his face and thats what I noticed first.  Second because I had noticed that Steph and Amanda were at the same table to begin with.  I didnt know if there was an early alliance already formed by that table when they were playing.

Steph said jokingly, You took my next pick! HEHEHE.Okay then Ill have to pickyou! She pointed to Tom.

Tom joined Steph and Amanda.

The selections continued until it got down to the last two castaways, Chris and Paul.  Steph chose Chris.

Adam: Paulyoure with Coachella.

Paul--It was  annoying being picked last.  And I got put onto my tribe by default, not because they truly picked me.

The tribes were talking loudly, getting to know each other.

Adam: Alright guys, listen up.  We have Morongo: Steph, Amanda, Tom, Nick, Jawa, Jay, Mike, and Chris.  And Coachella:  Emily, Daniel, Cindi, Kevin, Skyler, Simone, Vanessa, and Paul.  There were a few cheers. Listen up.  Its getting late and you still have to walk to your camps.  In your crate youll find a map to  your camps, take your crate and settle in.
