Previously on Survivor Shuffled:
VO: The alliance of 9 set up on day 4 suffered heavy causalities as nearly half of the alliance was voted out one by one:
Adam: Vanessa...the tribe has spoken.
Adam: Kevin...the tribe has spoken.
Adam: Mike...the tribe has spoken.
VO: After drinking bad water, Paul began to fall into illness:
Paul--It stomach felt like someone was really chopping it to pieces, and I spent the majority of the day throwing up.
VO: In Morongo, Steph struggled with her vote when Amanda and Nick wanted to vote for different people.
Amanda: Cindi.
Nick: I dont think I can vote for Cindi.
Steph--Nick and Amanda are split, and so am I! And honestly at this point, Im considering splitting my 2 votes...one for Jay, one for Cindi.
VO: But at tribal council, Steph cast both of her votes for Cindi, marking the 4th straight Jury Alliance member to be voted out of the game:
Adam: Cindi, the tribe has spoken
VO: The Jury alliance titters on the brink of total collapse. Can the remaining 5 manage to overcome the shuffles before the alliance lies in ruin?
11 people remain. Who will be voted out tonight?
Opening Credits
Night 15: Morongo Camp
(Morongo returns from tribal council.)
Jay: I cant believe you guys did that.
Amanda: What?
Jay: I thought I was gone for sure. Cindi was a sweetheart. I cant believe you pick her over me.
Nick: Yeah, it sucks.
Jay: Everything happens for a reason.
Nick: Yup.
Nick--Last night Cindi was voted out of the game. I didnt feel too good about this because I did really want her to stay. Amanda thought she was a threat and so did Steph obviously. In fact I did talk to Steph right as we were leaving and she told me that her 2 votes were going to Cindi, so I cast that vote for Jay knowing he wouldnt go, but I decided to vote for him anyway; to send him a message that he shouldnt have joined the jury alliance.
Day 16: Coachella Camp
(Tom and Emily walk to get tree mail)
Tom: It will be interesting to see who they picked, Jay or Cindi.
Emily: Yeah but I hope Jay.
Emily--Daniel got here yesterday and told me what was happening in Morongo. Basically they would have voted him out but Steph likes him, so she saved him and now they were turning their attention to Jay or Cindi. I want Jay gone because he still knows I am the one who voted against Kevin and plus Cindi really is a very nice person. I think her caring spirit keeps half of us sane out here.
Tom: (taking out the tree mail) Oooo this is fun.
Emily: What is it?
Tom: A box.
Emily: I know!! But what does it say?
Tom: Reading:
Endure the box,
How much can you bear?
Stand the test of time,
A headdress you will wear.
Day 16: Challenge Beach
(Morongo enters from the left, Coachella enters from the right. There are 11 huge red boxes set up along the beach.)
Emily notices that Jay is still there and quickly sees that Cindi isnt.
Emily: (To Tom) Cindi.
Tom nods.
Tom--Yeah I mean Im kind of sad that Cindi got voted out but not really. I mean she was great and everythingway better than Jay for that matter, but she was one of the founders of the jury alliance. Kevin and Cindi are gone...now we can get Simone.
Adam: Welcome guys. First things first, Steph and Emily, Ill take back the headdresses. Okay, today's challenge will test your endurance.
Nick--Adam said endurance and for some reason that just sparked merge in my mind.
Adam: If you want to become the chief, you will have to outlast all of the competition. Along the beach there are 11 boxes, each 7 feet tall and 5 feet wide. Each of you will pick a box and get inside of it. Once you are inside the time will start and the last person to come out of their box will win the challenge. Think it sounds easy? The box is almost completely black. The only source of light will come from a tiny holes punched into the box that will also be used for breathing.
Steph: Oh no!
Adam: Thats not all. Since being in a secluded box can become lonely, we thought it would be nice to give each of you some company. In each box weve put a variety of different critters and creatures from around the island.
Jawa: Ewww.
Adam: And as you all know we are on a beach and depending on how long this lasts, the tides may rise, and if they do, your box will begin to flood with water from the breathing holes. One more thing, you will be getting no updates as to how the others are doing. You can stay in there as long as you think you need to win. I will not stop you once everyone else is out. Sound Fun?
Steph: NO!!!
Daniel: Bring it on.
Adam: Alright everyone get inside a box and I'll begin the time. Survivors ready? Go!
The castaways each picked a box and got in. Some of the girls saw the critters that Adam had talked about and jumped back.
Adam: In your boxes ladies.
Amanda--There were bugs the size of baseballs in there! All slimy and crawly!! Icky!!
Adam: Time begins now.
Steph--As soon as I closed the door and saw how dark it really was, my heart started racing. And then something starting crawling up my leg and that was enough. I couldnt breathe and I needed out.
Steph: (coming out of her box) I cant!
Adam: Aww come one Steph. Its been 15 seconds.
Steph: Im sorry, but I cant.
Adam: Take a seat.
5 minutes pass
Amanda--Im such a wuss. I think the main reason I came out was because I really had to use the bathroom before the challenge and I knew I wasnt going to be able to hold it so I might as well stop now and not continue the suffering.
Amanda: (Opening her door) Gotta pee!
Adam: (laughs) Okay. Do your business and take a seat with Steph.
10 minutes pass and Jay, Tom, and Chris have come out of their boxes.
Paul--Eh, I had enough. I stayed in there long enough. Plus I had to throw up, bad. I was hoping that I would have gotten better but the darkness just made me dizzy and my stomach couldnt handle it. I wasnt going to be in that small box with puke all over myself.
Paul: (As he runs to the bushes beyond the beach) Im out!
Adam: Whoa! Pauls out at 16 minutes and 45 seconds.
44 minutes pass. Nick jumped out at 33 minutes, while Daniel lasted 58.
Adam goes around to each box.
Adam: You have been in your box for one hour.
Adam walks back to the castaways sitting on a log who are out of the competition.
Adam: (to those no longer in the challenge) 3 remain, Jawa, Emily and Simone.
40 minutes pass
Simone--I had no idea how the others were doing. We got no update and could not see who was still in the competition. It felt like I had been in the box for at least 4 hours so I figured that I would either be the winner or runner up and that was fine with me.
Simone: (coming out) Simone checking in!
Adam: Your time is 1 hour 40 minutes 35 seconds.
Simone: Whos left?
Adam: Emily and Jawa.
Simone: Drats!
Simone--I really needed to get first or second in that challenge. My alliance is diminishing and I need to take control.
20 minutes pass.
Adam: 2 hours!
13 minutes pass
Emily: (As she comes out) I think I got bitten.
Emily--Something bit me in there. I didnt know what kind of creatures were in there. I had felt them crawling over me forever and I didnt mind that. But I felt a pain and when I went to feel what it was, there was a bug on me and I guess it bit me, and being in the dark I had no idea what it was or if my health was in danger. I wasnt going to risk it and I had been in there a long time so I got out.
Adam: Take a seat and well see how bad it is. Your time is 2 hours, 13 minutes and 14 seconds.
Emily: Did I win?
Adam: No...Jawa is the only one remaining. She wins but were going to see how long she can endure.
3 hours and 45 minutes pass
Adam: 5 hours!
3 hours pass.
Adam: Its now starting to get dark and the tide is rising.
Jawa--What was my strategy? I fell asleep for the first 6 hours!!! (laughs) I was tired, and I knew that if I stayed awake Id just start to let my mind take over and I would start getting scared. So I sat down, closed my eyes and fell asleep. I woke up and it was almost completely dark. The breathing holes were starting to have less light so I knew it had to be near dusk.
1 hour passes.
Adam: This is the 9th hour. The tide is now high enough that it is starting to invade her box and throw it around.
Jawa--Water started coming in to my box, and I didnt mind that but after awhile it got really cold and it started to get really deep. I wish that I wouldve had some idea of how others were doing cause it really was hard.
3 hours pass.
Jawa: (Stepping out) Okay thats enough. I was standing up and the water was up to my chest.
(Everyone cheers and applauds)
Jawa: What?
Adam: Jawa you have won the challenge with a time of 12 hours 32 minutes and 5 seconds.
Jawa: I won?
Adam: Yes...Emily, come join us, with a time of 2 hours and 13 minutes you are the runner up.
(Nick looked up)
Nick--Man, I thought for sure this was the first challenge of the merged tribe, oh well.
Adam: Pick your tribes. Jawa, Morongo or Coachella?
Jawa: Coachella.
Adam: Okay Emily, you are Morongo, and once again Morongo will go to tribal council. Jawa, make your first pick.
Jawa: Simone.
(Emily looks at Jawa with wide eyes)
Emily: Umm..uh..Paul.
Jawa: Daniel.
(Emily looks at Jawa again)
Emily--Jawa and I had agreed that if we became the chiefs that wed put Simone in the tribe that was going to Tribal council and that the rest of the tribe would consist of people who wanted her gone. Jawa selected Simone and Daniel right off the bat for the safe tribe. Now I dont know what Im going to do.
Emily: Amanda
Jawa: Tom
Emily: Steph
Jawa: Chris
Adam: Okay Emily make your last pick, Jay or Nick?
Emily: Jay.
Adam: Okay Nick, youre with Coachella. The new tribes are:
