Day 34: Sekani Camp

Nick woke up and rubbed his eyes.  He glanced at the other 4 Sekani members and climbed out of the shelter.

Nick--I didnt expect to get any votes, much less 3.  It was just an eye opener for me that I nearly got voted off last night.  I havent ruffled any feathers and I didnt see 3 votes coming my way.  Why did Emily and Daniel chose me?  What bothers me even more is that someone from my alliance went against me.  I need to find out who, and I need to find out why.

Amanda soon followed him out of the shelter. 

Amanda: Do you want to talk?

Nick: About what?

Amanda: I voted for you last night.

Nick: I thought that was probably the case.  Why?

Amanda: Well I just want to be honest with you.  I dont know where I stand in the tribe.  Emily offered me a deal and I considered it.  But I didnt accept it until Steph told me she would vote for you too.

Nick: So youre aligned with Emily now?

Amanda: No, I just agreed to vote with you because Steph said she was going to also.  And she didnt. 

Nick: Well, I think that well just wait to see what happens at the challenge, and decide what to do from there.

 Amanda: Thats fine.

Day 34: Challenge Beach

The 5 remaining castaways entered immunity beach.  Emily handed Adam the immunity necklace as she came in.

Adam: Thank you Emily.  Welcome to the final immunity challenge of this game.  Tom, for the last time you will not compete.  The next challenge will be a chief challenge, and that title will be back up for grabs.  But today, immunity is again at stake.

Steph: Dag yo.

Amanda: Yip.

Adam: Todays challenge will be a mix of previous challenges.  There are 2 rounds that you must complete to win this challenge.  At each station someone will be eliminated.  The first round will involve 2 pairs of partners going head to head.  You will each eat 3 plates of Poi.  As you remember this was the Hawaiian delicacy that Tom and Kevin ate at the beginning of this game.  The first pair to finish all 3 of their plates, 6 in total will move on to the next round.  The other pair will be eliminated.  In the final round, the 2 partners will go head to head in the Box endurance challenge that Jawa won.  If you remember, she stayed in the box for a little over 12 hours.  Today you wont be staying in it for quite so long.  You only have to stay in it for 20 minutes.  The catch?  You are being timed.  You have to stay in it AT LEAST 20 minutes.  If you come out before those 20 minutes are up, you will have to go back into your box and your time is up.  The first person to step out of their box by the time 20 minuets are up will win immunity.  You will have no way to know what your time is, so you will just have to depend on your sense of time.  Any questions?

Steph: Got it dudester.

Adam: You have randomly selected your partner.  Nick and Steph, and Emily and Amanda. 

Amanda--Wouldnt it be my luck that the person I need not to win immunity just happens to be my partner?  So what do I do?  Blow this challenge on purpose to keep Emily from winning?  Or go for it? Because to be honest I think I need immunity after the last vote.?

Adam: Survivors ready?  Go!

The castaways immediately started to shove the Poi down their mouths.  Nick seemed to have no trouble, as he finished the first plate in under 30 seconds.  His partner however could not stand the taste, and Steph took her time with every bite. 

Steph: Its just hard to swallow.

Adam: It has little sharp glass like crystals.  These can and will give your throat little cuts. 

Steph: Its like putting little needles down your mouth!

Nick: Just try to swallow without thinking.  Thats the trick.

Adam looked at Amanda and Emilys progress.

Adam: Amanda and Emily both only need one more plate, Nick is done with all 3, Steph has another 2 to go.

Emily: Done. 

Amanda: I have a little more.

Amanda grabbed the last handful and shoved it in her mouth and started chewing.

Emily: Take your time, youre fine.

Amanda swallowed and showed Adam.

Adam: Emily and Amanda moving on!  Nick and Steph, youre out.

Nick and Steph joined Tom.

Adam led Emily and Amanda to identical boxes on the beach.

Adam: As before these boxes are completely dark.  Only the tiniest hint of light will come in through holes at the top of your box.  And of course we brought back the lovely critters that we had before.

Emily: I got bit last time.

Adam: Will that affect your performance today?

Emily: It may.

Adam: Well lets find out.  Ladies, enter your boxes and well begin the time.

Amanda and Emily entered their boxes.

Adam: Time starts now!

10 minutes passed and Adam checked the progress of each castaway.

Adam: Amanda, how are you doing?

Amanda: Im fine.  Its hot, thats all.  I dont have to pee this time so hopefully Ill keep it up.

Adam laughed. 

Adam: Emily, hows it going in there?

Emily: Im fighting myself.  Part of me wants to jump out but it hasnt been 20 mintues.  These things are all over me.  I wouldnt care if I hadnt gotten bitten before.

Adam: How much time do you think has passed?

Emily: I know its been between 9-11 minutes.  Im counting in my mind, so Ive got a pretty good idea.

Approximately 8 minutes passed.  The time read 18:34.

Amanda opened the door to her box.

Amanda: I may be making a mistake but I believe that is 20 minutes.

Adam: It isnt.

Amanda: Crap. 

Adam: Please reenter your box, and your time is going to reset.  Your 20 minutes starts now.

Approximately 5 minutes passed.  Emilys time was at 23:29, Amandas was at 4:55.

Emily opened her door.

Adam: Emily is coming out.

Emily: Please tell me Im passed 20.

Adam: Your time is at 23:29.  Congratulations, you have immunity once again.

Emily: Yes!

Adam: Amanda, you can come out.  Emily has won immunity.
