Last time on Survivor Shuffled:

VO: The game began in an unexpected way,

Adam: Pick your tribe

VO: as the chief of Morongo and Coachella were determined by a game of Hearts.

VO: In Morongo, Jay felt alienated and voiced his opinion of his tribe

Jay--Alliance or not, Steph, Tom, and Amanda are bonding.  From my perspective, I feel like there are more outsiders in this tribe than anything else.

VO: And in Coachella, news of another change in the game structure,

Adam: As runner up, she picked the tribe that would go to tribal council.

VO: sent Vanessa on a crusade to gather votes against Skyler, which rubbed some of the castaways the wrong way.

Vanessa: You need to vote for Skyler.

Simone: No, I already decided who I am going to vote for.

VO:  At tribal council, despite a voting block to get out Vanessa for her attitude, Skyler became the first person voted out of the game.

Adam: "Skyler...the tribe has spoken"

VO: 15 remain. Who will go tonight?

Night 3: Coachella Camp

Simone--I was surprised that the vote was split as much as it was.  I thought the whole tribe felt as I did about Vanessa.

Simone:  That was not fun.

Emily: No, not at all.

Emily--My extra vote was the vote that sent Skyler packing.  Honestly I feel terrible about it!  I really did not expect it to be as close as that.

Day 4: Morongo Camp

Tom and Steph get tree mail

Steph reading: Stomach what you have, its not a hard chore, your reward will be great, the tribe will be yours.

Tom: Hmmmm

Steph: A reward challenge?

Tom: We shall see.

Challenge Beach:

The tribes entered from opposites sides of the beach and take their places.

Adam: Morongo, Coachella.  Welcome to the second challenge.  Emily and Steph, your reign as tribal chief has ended.  I'll need the headdresses back.

Emily and Steph gave him the headdresses.

Adam:  Todays challenge will require you to stomach what you can, literally.  In Hawaii, Poi is a product made from the popular taro plant. You wrap the root in ball of leaves. Then attach a length of rope and begin swinging and bashing against a rock. After some bashing the taro root becomes a paste-like finger-food.  Poi is actually very filling and nutritious.  Day old poi is actually SOLD like that because once it's not fresh, it tastes SOUR. The taro must first be cooked because it has microscopic razor-sharp crystals of oxalic acid in it that will pierce into your throat if not cooked thoroughly. Cooking softens these crystals.  This is what you will be required to eat today: 3 full plates of sour, day-old, poi.  The first survivor to finish their entire portion will win.  Right this way.

The survivors followed Adam to a big table set with 15 places, 3 plates of poi in each place.  They each picked a spot to sit.

Adam:  Survivors ready?  Go!

Some of the castaways slowly began eat the poi, smelling it and feeling it out.  Others grabbed a hand full and just shoved it down.  Soon though, those who were eating fast started to realize how gross poi was, and began to spit it up.

Adam:  What comes out must go back in.  You have to eat everything.  If you spit it out, you need to find the will to put it back in your mouth and swallow.  I want nothing left on your plate.

The castaways began to eat what they had thrown up, but some could not stomach it and simply stopped eating.  After 15 min. Kevin finished all 3 servings of Poi.

Kevin:  Done!

Adam:  Lets see...yes!

The castaways stopped eating and a few Coachella members started to celebrate.

Adam:  The rest of you continue...no one said this challenge was done.

The castaways continued to eat.  Tom finished his and raised his hand.

Tom: I think I am done.

Adam checked his plate.

Adam:  Okay guys you can stop eating now, and follow me.

The castaways got up and followed Adam into an open area on the beach.

Adam:  You all know the name of this game is Survivor Shuffled.  Today you are going to find out why.  Think of yourselves as cards in a deck, and think of the game you are playing as a game of cards.  After each hand in cards, the cards are shuffled and the result is a new hand of cards each time.  You will all be shuffled into new tribes now.  Kevin, Tom, come up here.

The castaways looked confused and shocked as Kevin and Tom joined Adam.

Steph--AHHH! Adam said that we'd all be shuffled into new tribes and my heart sank.  I had the opportunity to pick the tribe that I wanted 3 days ago and now it was all being torn apart.  All the relationships that people had begun to develop would mean nothing if those people werent even on your tribe anymore.

Adam:  You are the new tribe chiefs (he handed them the headdress), and Kevin, as the winner of the chief challenge, you get what tribe you want to be chief of, Morongo or Coachella.

Kevin:  No doubt about it, Coachella.

Adam:  Tom, you are the chief of Morongo then.  We are still picking tribes, so Kevin, as winner you get first pick.

Kevin: Simone.

Tom: Steph.

Kevin: Cindi.

Tom: Nick.

Kevin--I started to see a pattern.  I decided to play it safe and pick a couple of people first of all that had been on Coachella before.  Then Tom picked some people that had been on Morongo.  In my mind, the stage was set; the tribal lines had been drawn.  The tribes we had been on for the first 3 days were going to be the people we sided with.  Thats just the way it was going to be.  I felt like Tom and I were playing a mind game, like chess.  Tribal selection is extremely strategic.

The last 2 survivors were Jawa and Vanessa.

Adam:  Kevin, make your last pick.

Kevin: Jawa.

Adam:  Vanessa you are over with Morongo.

Vanessa: Great.

Adam: The new tribes are Coachella:  Kevin, Simone, Cindi, Emily, Mike, Daniel, Paul, and Jawa.  Morongo looks like this: Tom, Steph, Nick, Amanda, Chris, Jay, and Vanessa.  You guys can head back to camp.
